{"id":147,"date":"2007-04-21T04:18:23","date_gmt":"2007-04-21T11:18:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sackrider.org\/myblog\/category\/mythoughts\/school-shootings"},"modified":"2025-06-15T06:07:42","modified_gmt":"2025-06-15T06:07:42","slug":"school-shootings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sackrider.org\/wordpress\/school-shootings\/","title":{"rendered":"School Shootings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I don&#8217;t usually post on such grave matters, however I just read several online posting about gun control in response to the recent horrible event at Virgina Tech.<\/p>\n<p>One such post had this quote:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>When will we learn that freedom and guns do not play well together?<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The students at Virgina Tech were killed by a deranged lunatic. Jack the Ripper used knives, Hitler used gas chambers, Jim Jones used poison, Cho used a gun &#8211; Guns are not evil, Cho was.<\/p>\n<p>If the students were allowed to carry guns on campus maybe this could have been stopped before 32 people were killed &#8212; remember the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Appalachian_School_of_Law_shooting\" title=\"Appalachian\" target=\"_blank\">Appalachian school shooting<\/a> in 2002? Two students went to their cars, got their guns, and stopped a killer just like this one.<\/p>\n<p>Criminalize guns &#8211; and only the criminals will have guns.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I don&#8217;t usually post on such grave matters, however I just read several online posting about gun control in response to the recent horrible event at Virgina Tech.
