  • Blast from the Past: myOldBlogs

Can’t get enought of myBlog?  Well, I’ve just added 13 entries from over a year ago.  I started an online journal when Zander was born – quickly abondoned it, then picked it back up again – Then abondoned it again.  I’ve published them under the correct dates that I wrote them, but you can ignore the timestamp on the posts – You can read them all here.

These 13 entries are all of those efforts.  I wrote them before I had WordPress (the blog software I use to publish this blog) and I believe the lack of entries is directly related to amount of effort it took to write an entry.  Anyway, most of its boring, but there are a few great posts about Zander and Stephanie – so enjoy, and feel free to comment on anything you read there…

Oh, by the way, some of the posts were writen when I was feeling a little hopeless due to the long cold winter weather and my not being in ministry full time but remember these are over a year old, so please don’t attempt to cheer me up based on what you read in myOldBlogs.

  • Times Up… I knew it was coming

Today is a sad day for me.  I knew it was going to happen, but I was hoping it wouldn’t happen for a while longer.  Safelite called – they want their laptop back.  When I left the company, I kept my laptop so that I could continue to work for them on an as needed basis.  The ‘as needed’ never came.  Of course they would eventually ask for the laptop back, but I was reallly hoping they would have forgotten about it now.  I’m not sure what I’m going to do yet.  I’m writing this post on the very laptop doomed to leave my hands in a week or so to make the trip back to Columbus.  I’ll keep you posted… maybe

  • I Need Your Help! (Update)

UPDATE: Thanks for all your help (those of you that replied) – I’ve made a few minor changes to the font size on the links and on the calendar that should fix the sidebar placement.  If you are still having trouble, please post a reply or comment.  Thanks…

I’m having some trouble with my website, and I’m trying to find out just how big an issue it is.  I need to know if you can see sidebar (the Google Link, Calendar, Search Bar ect) to the right hand side of this post or are that at the bottom of the page.  Please post a comment with the browser you are using (Microsoft’s IE, Netscape, Firefox, etc) and if you can the version number, plus where the sidebar is on your page.  Its supposed to be to the right, but on some browsers its showing up at the bottom… Thanks…

  • Splat! – Well, Almost

Just picture this, a 300lb guy on a bike going about 30 mph down a very steep hill through an intersection, when a car in the right hand lane makes a right hand turn right in front of the 300lb guy on a bike going 30 mph… (more…)

  • Counting Calories?

It takes about 3500 calories to burn off a pound of fat.  If I eat 3000 calories a day and burn 3500 calories a day, I lose a pound a week.  So for me to loose weight I have to determine how many calories a day do I burn, then set my diet to 1000 – 1500 calories a day less than that number.  If I do that, I loose 2-3 pounds a week.  So, how many calories a day do I burn? (more…)

  • The Door Swings Open

Without my bike (flat tire), I had to choose – ride the bus the whole way to work, or drive the car. I chose to ride the bus. I have not walked the long walk from my house to the bus stop in months. I forgot how long it takes to walk that half mile, and so I missed the bus. Not by much, I was about a football field’s length away when the bus went flying by me and past my stop. I had thirty minutes until the next bus was scheduled to come by… (more…)

  • My bike is busted!

I got a flat sometime between when I parked it on Friday and Sunday night.  I took the bus Monday, and got home too late to get it to a shop.  So after we had dinner with Dad and Dianne (they just got back from vacation) I ran into a Walmart looking for a new tube for my bike.  Here’s a piece of advice for you – never buy anything for you bike at Walmart!  I thought I had 26″ tires.  I also thought I could change a tube.  I was wrong on both counts.  (more…)

  • The Results (drum roll please…)

After many attempts, I finally got the Bod Pod test done! It’s confirmed, I’m morbidely obese. BUT – I’m shredding the weight off 19 miles at a time. Here are my results: (more…)

  • Let Them Eat Cake!

The Sackrider Slimdown is a family effort to loose weight.  It’s about support from your family to push you to work out, eat right, and get the weight off.  Saturday, the Sackrider Slimdown wasn’t losing weight… instead we lost ground.  We all, Stephanie, Dianne, Dad, and I were at a birthday party for a church member and not one of us said – “DON’T EAT THAT CAKE!”  No, we all ate cake.  I had more than one piece. (more…)
