A Night at the Movies: Premonition

The family went to see Premonition this weekend. Its about a housewife named Linda (played by Sandra Bullock) that is shocked when her husband dies in a car crash and reappears the next day. Linda is living the days of her week out of order where she doesn’t know if she is going to wake up today, tomorrow, or yesterday.

After seeing the movie, I have to say I wish I could wake up yesterday and not waste my money.  The movie doesn’t have a feel good ending and there were several plots holes that don’t make sense.  The main character seems to not catch on which is frustrating.

All in all, I feel like the movie treats the audience like they are slow and leaves us feeling bad in the end.  Two thumbs down, Zero stars out of Five stars…

Family Time

Stephanie and I went on a bike ride a couple of Saturdays ago.  We left the house around 11 am with Zander in tow and hit the cannals.  We biked a total of 15 miles but we had several stops along the way including a playground for Zander, a basketball court where we realized we aren’t going to be drafted by the NBA anytime soon.  We had a great time – I really enjoyed spending the day with my family.

We were going to do the same last Saturday, but after being out late at the drive-in movies Friday night, we both over slept.  We could have still gone out, but we both wanted an excuse to be lazy.  Anyway, our goal is to be more and more active – one Saturday of staying in is Ok, but with Zander coping everything we do, being active is the example we want to set.

How is that OK?

After a full day of bike riding (kinda – I got called to work about an hour into the ride), swimming (yes, the water was freezing but we did swim), and playing, Stephanie and I took Zander to see “Open Season” last night.  It’s a cartoon about a domesticated bear that saves a deer from being slaughtered by a hunter before open hunting season begins.  It started out great – it was funny and Zander was glued to the big screen.  Then out of nowhere, Stephanie and I both look at each other and say “Did he just say Orgy?”
