You’re TOO FAT to eat here!

When you go into a fast food restaurant, you expect the person behind the counter to say something like “Welcome to Good Burger, Home of the Good Burger, Can I take your order?”… but that isn’t what I got.  She took my friend’s order as expected but when I stepped up in line, the cashier said these words – “You shouldn’t eat here – you’re getting fat!“ I’m not making this up, people. – Read the Rest of the Story at I Quit… Again!

How do we ever know what is inside the skin of those we meet? Strength to endure an unwarranted comment, or a psyche so fragile that an honest appraisal will lead to collapse? What do we risk when mentioning a button undone, an open zipper, a dab of cream cheese on a cheek, a ridiculous necktie? As touchy as those tensions might be, none of them address the person herself. Mentioning weight, too much or too little – which we are told indicates a health danger that should be faced – can be interpreted as a statement that “there is something wrong with your very self.”

Love should accompany any such assertion.

Come to think of it, that should accompany everything we do.
